“I'm a current Baker Student and now a senior (class 09').My high school years have been the best time of my life and i'm happy that the students have a low tolerance for bulling aka lack of a life. My time spent here has made me what i am today and has pushed me to live my dream as a health care provider(as well as giving me that chance).No,this school is not racist and anyone who thinks so is sadly mistaken.If you are a parent looking at this school to send your child to I as a student would recomend Baker. We have high test scores and recive millions of dollers for college.”

“Baker High School has a great honors program and many electives to choose from. However, the staff are lax in the enforcement of school polices and rules. There are so many students, the teachers only remember a student for a semester before having to learn the names and faces of new students. the school is very large and easy to get lost in.”

“I have been very disappointed in Baker High School. I feel they have let my children down. They do not have any concerns for the safety of their students. I have withdrawn both my daughters from Baker.”

“I graduated from Baker High School in 2003. My brother now attends and he is a junior this year. Our uncle became the principal in 2004. I loved the education that I received at Baker. When I got to college, I was always one step ahead of my classmates. Thanks Mrs. Perry, Mr. Shelton, Mr. Butler, Mr. Willmann, Mrs. Fredella, Mrs. Mullin, Ms. Alexander, and all the rest. You are truly amazing and have inspired me to become a teacher. I graduate in December and will teach elementary students. Thanks for everything!”

I moved to California to go to college and I really agree that Baker is way more advanced than a lot of other high schools in other places.I miss the teachers a lot especailly my senior teachers u know who u are! “Baker High school is one of the best high schools in Alabama. I recently graduated from BHS, and would like to applaud the school for the education I received. BHS consistently attains high grades on standardized tests and grad exams. Overall, this year's senior class earned one-third of the scholarships given out to Mobile county student. The clubs available are also a great aspect of the school, especially the band program. It always received superior ratings at competitions, and this past year received a great honor. Baker band was selected to march first in the macy's thanksgiving Day Parade! Over all, I would reccomend Baker high school for a quality education, and a great experience.”

“I was an exchange student at Baker High School last year, and I did like Baker High school a lot! It was easy for me to find new friends who accept you for who you are and what you think! I took drama classes and they have been great! The school spirit was something what I was impressed about the most! Even though the football team is not the best, it was still fun to watch the games. The teachers helped me with english so I think Baker High school is a good school!”

“I am a parent of a Baker High School student who is in the band and I highly recommend this school and it's band program. It is very likely the best program in the state of Alabama. The band director is highly motivated and continues to lead the band to victory in every competition. In addition, Baker Band will be the first band in line to march in the 2004 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. As far as academics are concerned, Baker students have earned excellent test scores and are provided a challenging curriculum and top notch teachers. We were a military family that transferred in to Mobile County and we specifically chose Baker because of it's outstanding academic record. Baker HS is also a racially diverse school with students who accept others and their differences with open arms. I highly recommend this school!!”

“Baker is a excellent school to attend as a former student i enjoyed every aspect of the school. To imply that it is a racist is school is wrong. The fact is the people who live in that school district are prodominantly one race doesnt make the school racist”

“I'm a student at Baker High School, and I feel like it is to racist. They need to mix all Mobile County Public Schools, because to many schools are dominated by one race. I think if they would let the band pick its music, we would have more fun. I recommend anyone who read this to send their children to another school. Either Davidson or Murphy High School.”

“Baker High School does an awesome job for the cost per student ratio. But, it would be better academically if the high school was on a five or six block schedule instead of four. The attention span of teenagers doesn't last as long as the blocks...the blocks in Public Schools are for the most part longer than most college courses!”
